Where It Began
Honing their songcraft at the prestigious Moscow Drug Club with B.B. Gabor in the late seventies, Leon Stevenson and Denis Keldie put together a first rate crew of session players and called themselves The Extras . They recorded their first L.P. Bit Parts with producer David Bendeth and the notorious Irving Bonspiel. The album on Ready Reords was a ska-tinged new wave fun fest which spawned the hit single and hilarious condom conumdrum Circular Impression. In support of the record the band hit the road doing concert halls, the college pub circuit and other fine drinking establishments across Canada.
1985 saw the release of the single and video Can't Stand Still from their fourth L.P. Extropolis. The critically acclaimed video features the work of British animator Peter Sander.

So are they selling shoes now, or what? ...
Today, Stevenson freelances as a drummer for local acts and writes and records in his home studio in Oakville Ontario. Super session keyboard player Keldie can be heard on many recordings listed here on his personal website. It's rumoured that 2010 might just bring Keldie and Stevenson together again for some "psychedelic cowboy" music. One can only hope.
